Maribel Rodríguez is an accomplished tourism executive with three decades of international leadership experience across aviation, hospitality, destination development and global organisations. Since April 2026, she has served as Executive Vice President – Destinations at the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), where she leads the organisation’s global strategy for destination partnerships, investment, competitiveness, destination stewardship and public-private collaboration. Since beginning her career in 1996, Maribel has held senior positions at British Airways, Ryanair, Travelodge Hotels and WTTC. During her previous decade-long tenure at WTTC, she served as Senior Vice President and as Acting CEO in 2021. She previously advised Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund on tourism investment, destination development and international partnerships. Maribel is the President and Founder of Women Leading Tourism and a frequent speaker at major international industry forums. Forbes Women named her one of Spain’s 30 Most Influential Women in Tourism in 2024, and she was featured by ELLE in 2026. She holds an Executive MBA from ICADE and speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese, with conversational French and Dutch.
