KIM DAE-HYUN

Vice Minister, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Republic of Korea
H.E. Mr. Dae-hyun Kim has served as Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea since August 2025. He began his career in public service after passing the 37th Higher Civil Service Examination in 1993. From 2005 to 2008, he served as an officer on secondment to the World Tourism Organization (now UN Tourism). He later served as Director General for Cultural Events at the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games from 2017 to 2018. His subsequent appointments included Director General of the Media Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) in 2020, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs at MCST in 2021, and Secretary General of the National Academy of Arts in 2023. He holds a B.A. in Public Administration from Yonsei University and an M.A. in Recreation and Leisure from Central Michigan University in the United States. He is a recipient of the Order of Service Merit (4th Class).
