HyungTae Son is Managing Director of HanaTour Hong Kong and Chairman of HanaTour Taiwan. With more than 20 years of experience at HanaTour and extensive expertise in international markets, he leads the company’s commercial strategy and regional growth across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, and Southern China. His regional leadership connects South Korea’s outbound travel market with destinations across Greater China through integrated regional operations and cross-border partnerships. His work focuses on strengthening supply chain resilience, creating sustainable value for travelers, local partners, and destinations, and applying AI to improve operational efficiency and responsiveness to changing market conditions. His ability to work in English, Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean enables him to engage directly with partners across diverse markets and bring a locally grounded perspective to regional tourism development. HyungTae has delivered keynote addresses at forums organized in partnership with UN Tourism, delivered lectures for national tourism organizations, and made regular media appearances to share perspectives on regional tourism trends. He holds a master’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management and is completing an MBA at Boston University.
