Dr. Adrian Cheng is a visionary business leader and cultural entrepreneur committed to destination tourism building. A Harvard graduate, Dr. Cheng launched K11 in 2008 and pioneered the “cultural commerce” model, seamlessly integrating art, design, and retail. Under his leadership, K11 spearheaded the development of Victoria Dockside, K11 MUSEA, Avenue of Stars and other iconic landmarks attracting millions of visitors annually. This US$2.6 billion global art and cultural district is located in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui area, which has been ranked as the city’s most visited among overnight travellers. He had also led teams to shape projects such as Kai Tak Sports Park, a leading vibrant sports, entertainment and leisure destination in Asia. As his latest endeavour in pioneering models and ecosystem innovation, Dr. Cheng founded ALMAD Group in 2025. The new global conglomerate is dedicated to harnessing future opportunities in emerging markets across transformative industries—from culture, entertainment, sports, media, healthcare, commercial management to cultural tourism. ALMAD Group also strives to expand the K11 by AC brand, a global cultural company with strategic actions to broaden its footprint across China, Asia, the Middle East and beyond, advancing cultural retail, experiential innovation and other new frontiers. Dr. Cheng is also a renowned community leader as the founder of the K11 Art Foundation and the K11 Craft & Guild Foundation. Dr. Cheng has been appointed to influential public positions, currently serving as Member of the National Committee of CPPCC, Chairman of the Hong Kong Mega Arts and Cultural Events Committee, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy.
